Mar 06, 2015 I am hugely indebted to donthomaso's post on the HP Support Forum thread download driver on mac 10.7.4 for HP Laserjet 1000, which linked to this set of instructions by The Daily Chu / chuck: HP Laserjet 1000/1005/1018/1020 on OS X Lion/Mountain Lion/Mavericks. Hp deskjet 1000 free download - HP DeskJet, HP DeskJet 800 Series USB Drivers, HP DeskJet USB, and many more programs. HP never released an OS X driver for their Laserjet 1000. I struggled unsucessfully with the foozjs linux driver for a long time. I was ultimately able to print through the network by attaching the laserjet to a pc and printing to a windows shared printer through SAMBA, but this was neither acceptable nor elegant. Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 3 or higher, HP LaserJet 1015 only, printer driver only, not USB compatible)! Windows XP (32-bit)! Mac OS 9.x (v 9.1 and higher)! My switch to iMac has gone really smoothly, with the Migration assistant doing a great job. But connecting the printer did not automatically produce any wizard for installation. In the general list of drivers there´s only one for HPLaserjet, and it seemed to be accepted.
When printing a page, though, I am informed that the text cannot be sent from the machine to the printer, and that´s as far as I get. HP´s home pages do not offer any alternative drives as far as I can see.
My printer is a few years old, but functions perfectly, and I find it difficult to believe that should´t continue to work for me...
